You'll start to see..



...that it's still based in mid-1960's technology.



By the way, if you doubted how "portable" the PortaColor was, consider this comparison in size between this set and a typical early-1960's 21" round-tube color console-- which would have still been a typical color TV size when the PortaColor was originally introduced. Not only is the console very heavy, but those low-deflection round picture tubes make for a very deep cabinet-- it's over 27 inches from front to back. [In case you care, the console is a Philco 15M91.]
